I love houses like this!
So many people only want new houses. I'd much rather have a crotchety old house with some character to nurture than the new cookie cutter homes. To me, the new homes have no soul.
That said, my favorite page in This Old House magazine is the last one with its "Save This Old House" feature. It lets me dream.

I love old houses, too, with their nooks and crannies, especially Victorians.
I have never cared for neighborhoods where all the houses look alike, and have no character.
I agree about the lack of soul in such newness.
I love those side windows on the orange house.

I need to put up more pix of the houses there. Hudson is a town in which most of the architecture is of the same period, and is quite unusual for that.
